Before Lady Gaga was Lady Gaga and “we knew her as Stephanie,” she performed at Desmond’s Tavern located at 433 Park Avenue South in New York City, according to owner Hugh Connolly. Conolly’s family bought the bar in 1968 and he has run it as Desmond’s Tavern since 1990. It had been running as a bar since 1936.

Now, Katz & Associates’ David Yablon has represented Hugh Connolly in a lease of the 1,600 square foot space (with an additional 800 square feet in the basement) to Istvan Nagy. Habendum Real Estate’s Nicholas Nitu represented Nagy in the transaction. The venue is slated to open in November or December 2021. This new space (name to be announced) will continue to run as a music venue/bar/restaurant, and it will serve elevated bar food like Nagy’s other two other bars in New York City, Side Door, and One Lenox.
