Englewood, NJ, October 24, 2022 – Katz & Associates is pleased to announce that Holly Buchanan, CCIM, has received the inaugural Charles “Mac” McClure, CCIM, Volunteer of the Year Award. Holly serves as a Senior Director at the Katz Nashville office, which she helped open in 2017. She received the award in Chicago on October 15 at the CCIM Inauguration Ball, a celebration of the installation of 2023 CCIM Leadership and a part of the Institute’s fall business meetings.
Mac passed away earlier this year. He was the CCIM Institute President in 2009 and a well-loved broker/developer in the Dallas market, as well as a CCIM Institute instructor. Mac was passionate about education and professional development. His legacy of service and excellence in commercial real estate will continue through his wife Susan McClure, CCIM, his son, John McClure, CCIM, and all those who worked with him.
Holly Buchanan shares, “I have endless stories about Mac. He always wore cowboy boots with his very nice suits and a Texas swagger. He was my friend and lovingly called me his niece. He had a servant heart for CCIM Chapters and as an instructor.”
“Earning the CCIM designation not only changed my career path, but also enhanced my personal life with many good colleagues and lifelong friends,” shares Buchanan. Born and raised in the Nashville area, Holly has extensive knowledge and expertise of the Tennessee markets and has built strong relationships with local brokers, owners, and developers. She has devoted over 20 years exclusively to retail site selection, leasing, and retail/office sales. She earned her CCIM designation in 2009, has served on many committees at the National level, and will be the Education Presidential Liaison in 2024.
CCIM stands for Certified Commercial Investment Member. To demonstrate experience in commercial real estate, every candidate for the CCIM designation is required to: complete an education component; submit a portfolio of qualifying activities, transactions, projects, or work products; and pass the comprehensive exam.
