Booming bagel business Joe’s Bagel & Grill will expand in New Jersey with two new locations secured by Katz & Associates’ Amy Staats. The new locations, in Marlboro (2,100 SF; 450 Union Hill Road), and a second store for the franchise in Toms River (1,500 SF; 1338 Hooper Ave), are anticipated to open in Q1 2022.
Staats, the exclusive broker representing Joe’s Bagel & Grill and a shore town resident with inherent knowledge of the area, is currently working with three franchisees searching for additional locations. They are ideally seeking 1,500-2,500 square feet, predominantly in Ocean and Monmouth counties. Second generation space is preferred, but all viable opportunities will be considered. Joe’s Bagel & Grill is also offering franchise opportunities throughout the Tri-State area.
Joe’s Bagel & Grill began in 2016 when founder Russell Grabow, who always worked in contracting and construction, opened the first location in West Long Branch. While second generation restaurant space is ideal because the infrastructure is there, such as the new Marlboro location that was a former Dunkin’ Donuts, Grabow is not afraid to look at something outside the box. Using his background experience and vision, he’s comfortable procuring different types of sites. The portfolio of Joe’s Bagel & Grill locations include: a converted Burger King, a former gas station, an in-line space, and an end-cap space.
